The new 2011 Suzuki Swift is now available of order in the UK with a starting price tag of £9,995 for the base three door model and £12,245 for the manual high end five door model .
Power for the Suzuki Swift comes form a new 94HP 1.2-liter petrol engine combined fuel economy of 56.5 mpg UK and a 75HP 1.3-liter diesel engine with a combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg UK will be available for the Swift next spring.
The 2011 Swift comes in three models: the SZ2, SZ3 and SZ4. The SZ2 comes equipped with electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, remote central door locking with deadlocks, electric front windows, MP3 / WMA compatible CD tuner with USB port and steering wheel mounted audio controls and the SZ3 adds 16 inch alloy rims and manual air conditioning. The high model , the SZ4 comes with automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth integrated audio unit with music streaming capability, cruise control as standard, electric front and rear windows, push button keyless start, rear privacy glass (five-door models) and automatic headlamps.
For the US the swift gets delayed as they plan to re-evaluate pricing and strategy with their 20% stakeholder , Volkswagen . They rising Japanese Yen has also had a role in this delay.
Acording to American Suzuki product and development head, Steve Younan "We should get some indication of where they may have found some efficiencies in platform development and powertrain development."
