2011 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake With 800hp

The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake gets more grunt as Shelby has unveiled a new power package for the car.

Shelby American and Ford Racing came hand in hand and have given the already mad Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake a 75hp bump to a massive Zonda competing power of 800 hp. For those of us who care about our future, the Super Snake is also available with 660 hp or 750 hp.

On the exterior , the 2011 Super Snake gets new white stripes, anthracite wheels, and new side scoops were added.

Pricing for the 800hp version hasn’t been announced yet but with a $30,000 price tag (without the car) for the 750hp upgrade, the car is not exactly cheap. Production is set to begin this month with only 1000 2011 Super Snakes being produced.

Ford Shelby GT500 Production Limited

Shelby has recently announced that it only plans to make 5500 units of the 2011 model year Ford Shelby GT500 even though there are already 3000 orders on this car. Despite this sales success and starting at a base price of just $49,495, ford still plans to make the production of this 550hp mustang limited."We are pleased with the pace of retail orders for the 2011 Shelby GT500," said Fritz Wilke, Mustang brand manager. "The car continues to be popular with sports car enthusiasts and collectors who are blown away by the increase in horsepower and performance. The limited production of the 2011 should make this year even more desirable." To remind you , this car is powered by an aluminum-block 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine, which makes 550 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque.
