Ferrari have officially showcased the Ferrari 458 Challenge at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy.
The Ferrari 458 Challenge is powered by the same 4.5 litre V8 found in the 458 Italia with 570 hp at 9,000 rpm. The car get new firsts for a Ferrari track-only car like E-Diff electronic differential and F1-Trac traction control system. The car also get improved gear ratios and calibration of the dual-clutch F1 gearbox which allows the car to improve torque at lower revs.
A diet has also been achieved with lightweight materials like carbon-fibre and Lexan and reducing the thickness of body panels.
The car also gets a race-spec model which gets toys like new generation Brembo CCM2 brakes with new ABS tech, 19-inch forged rims, a suspension set-up with steel uniball joints, stiffer springs, single-rate alloy dampers and a lower ride height by 50mm.
The car has achieved a 2 second faster lap at Fiorano with a lap time of 1’16.5.
